Wunjo, and Leafmold live in a 36" X 18" X 18" cage. In it they have an igloo, a wooden shelf, a ladder, a sleep shelf and a hammock.
Puzzle and Archimedes live in a 24"X18"X18" cage. They have an igloo, a hammock, a corner tray and a leap shelf.
In the base of the cages I use a recycled paper litter called Megazorb and in the igloos I use shredded paper I get from work. I prefer the Megazorb to shavings because it doesn't fly about as much and it doesn't seem to smell as much as shavings. I make the hammocks out of half a teatowel with a flannel sewn to it by each corner to make a pocket for the rats to snuggle under. I either tie them to the top of the cage or hook them with paperclips. |
