This month (January 2005):

Jan 22: Started a new orkut community, India2020, to keep a discussion on India alive and brimming in my mind and hopefully in the minds of others who join it.

Jan 12: Spring semester begins; back to classes and unsuccessful attempts at catching forty winks.

Jan 6: Offered RA by Dr. Dawson. Have to pay less fees. A temporary (?) goodbye to the police job on campus

Jan 4: Back to Clemson from the NY trip with Rahul, Chinmay and Pratik. Note to self: upload photos before the next new year.

Hey...350+ hits! And to think I was responsible for only 300 of those.

There are three ways by which you could have accessed my webpage: either my persistent exhortations for you to do so, a well-placed link somewhere on the web, or by pure chance. In either of the cases, you are welcome. For those who are here by pure chance, the fact that you have visited an obscure website of an unknown person shows that you have time to stand and stare. Do use some of it for a quick look around. You could take a look at my resume and projects page if the purpose of your visit is to know what I do or have done. Briefly, this is what you will find:

I have completed my Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering in 2003. I was a student at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering (CRCE), University of Mumbai. Prior to that, I was schooled at Don Bosco High School, Borivli, Mumbai (India, if you're still scratching your head for the geographical location). The school I got to study in was the second biggest stroke of fortune in my life after the family I was born into.

A few thousand miles away from my family, my second (Spring) semester has just begun at Clemson Univeristy, South Carolina, with Robotics as my specialisation. I have been interested in Robotics all through my undergraduation, because of its relatedness not only to other branches of engineering, but also to many disciplines within Electronics itself. I am currently working as a Research Assistant with Dr. Darren Dawson in the Control and Robotics Group on simulations of mobile robot teams.

I immensely enjoy writing poetry and reading classic works in English literature. I also proofread at Project Gutenberg Distributed Proofreaders (PGDP), one of the most amazing examples of what the internet can help achieve by way of teams online. Do write in if you happen to be a fellow proofer! Current status at PG is dormant with occasional flashes of inspired proofreading, but with the schedule here, those are in a miniscule proportion of total time.

I hope that you will find something we have in common on this site, because meeting someone with shared interests through this page will make building it worth the effort...
