Meanwhile Piper and Leo have been planning a honeymoon in Paris. While waiting at the passport office, Piper unexpectedly discovers her new power: she is able to explode things.
Cole is taking refuge at the manor. While the Charmed Ones are diverted by a demon attack downstairs, he is in the attic with Leo and Jenna waiting for the potion to cool and be ready to use. Just as it is, Raynor appears in the attic and blasts Leo unconscious. Raynor taunts Cole trying to draw out his evil side and reminds him that it is a choice between Jenna and his father's soul. Phoebe arrives just in time to see Cole change into Belthazor and kill Jenna with a fireball.
Although Phoebe is now convinced that there is no hope of Cole turning good, he still wants to use the potion. She now suspects his intentions may have been evil all along, and destroys the potion. He shimmers away. Piper, who has been having trouble controlling her new power, has some sympathy for Cole, saying she understands how it feels to have "something inside of you that you can't control, which is capable of hurting the people that you love even if you don't want it to".
Cole has a final reckoning with Raynor. After retrieving his father's soul he kills Raynor for destroying his relationship with Phoebe. Raynor dies happy, convinced that he has turned Cole back to evil for ever.
