The sisters put their reservations aside and decide to join forces with Krell to kill Belthazor. When Leo, at Phoebe's insistence, tries to heal Cole, all does not go according to plan and Leo senses that Cole is not a normal human being. He suspects that Cole is really Belthazor and Prue concurs. When Krell and the other two burst into Cole's apartment he turns into Belthazor and teleports away with his dagger at Phoebe's throat.
He takes her to the cemetery, where he had been hiding in a mausoleum earlier. He confesses his true identity but explains that he is half human and that his love for Phoebe has helped him get in touch with his human side. When Krell arrives they retreat to the mausoleum. In the ensuing fight Cole saves Phoebe by killing Krell. When they hear the sisters on their way, Phoebe fakes Cole/Belthazor's death and Cole teleports away.
Phoebe is left with Cole's dagger as a memento. She is upset that her romance with Cole is apparently at an end and anguished that she cannot share her secret with her sisters.
