Full Storyline

An astral projection of Rex is in the manor, but only Kit (who hisses appropriately) can see him. Rex is using telepathic suggestion to make Prue put a diamond tiara in a drawer. The next morning in the Halliwell household starts like any other. Piper and Leo's date seems to have gone well and he says good morning with a passionate kiss.

When Prue arrives at work she finds out that the tiara we saw her with has been stolen and a security video-tape covering the time period during which the tiara was stolen is missing. It is a total shock to her - she has no memory of the previous night's events. She is even more surprised to find herself under suspicion and taken to the Police Station for questioning by Andy and Darryl. After leaving the station Prue has lunch at Quake. Rex and Phoebe are also there, having lunch together.

That evening at the manor Phoebe takes delivery of a large bunch of red roses from Rex, which he follows up with a phone call inviting her to a party at his place, saying that he may be able to help her find a job. Next thing Andy is at the door with a search warrant. Astral Rex is on hand to tell Andy where to look, but Piper thwarts him by freezing the scene. Phoebe gets to the tiara first and finds a safer hiding place for it, out of sight of Rex.

Leo is in the attic. We discover that he's more than just a handyman when he starts opening drawers and cupboards by telekinesis! Piper comes in and almost catches him in the act. He makes a weak excuse for being in the attic and tells her that he may be leaving town soon. A confused Piper finds the tiara in an open drawer and assumes he behaved so oddly because he had found it too.

Phoebe goes round to Rex's well furnished apartment for the party, but finds she is the only guest! Rex triggers a premonition showing Prue at the office being monstered by a big black panther and Phoebe hastily makes her excuses and leaves. Rex calls the police and sends them to the auction house. Next thing the entire interior of the apartment vanishes with a wave of his hand.

Over at Buckland's Hannah whacks Jaime, the security guard, on the head and kills him leaving the missing security video-tape by his corpse. Prue hears Hymie shout, and when the police arrive she is standing over the body; well and truly framed. Prue is arrested and charged with stealing the tiara and murdering the security guard to cover it up. Andy is upset to see Prue behind bars but has to accept that the weight of evidence against her is overwhelming.

Phoebe re-visits Rex's apartment with Piper and they find it empty. They put two and two together and decide he's a warlock. Now that they know supernatural forces are behind the whole afair, they decide the best course of action is to break Prue out of jail so they can use the full Power of Three against Rex. Piper uses her freezing power to effect Prue's escape, but Rex is one step ahead and is on hand to take an incriminating photograph of all three of them. He uses it to blackmail them into agreeing to give him their powers and the contents of the Book of Shadows. He provides them with a lantern to use as a receptacle.

Back at the manor the girls discuss their options and agree that they have little choice but to go along with Rex's plan. Outside the door, Leo is listening to this conversation with great interest! Having made their decision the sisters find the appropriate spell in the Book of Shadows and cast it. The printing on the pages of the Book disappears and is sucked into Rex's lantern along with their personal powers.

While Hannah and Rex are waiting at Buckland's we find that Hannah really can turn herself into the panther Phoebe saw in her vision. Meanwhile Andy has been doing a little research and has discovered that the real Rex Buckland and HannahWebster (who looked nothing like the ones we know) were the victims in an unsolved murder case which took place just before Prue got her job at the auction house.

The girls arrive at Buckland's and hand over the lantern. Hannah turns into the panther and is ready to pounce on them. Back at the manor, Leo is in the attic. He uses his powers to reverse the spell and Rex watches in horror as the contents of the Book of Shadows are sucked out of the lantern. In the attic, Leo watches the printing re-appear and the Book return to its previous state. The sisters' individual powers have also been restored. As the panther leaps Piper tries to freeze it out of instinct and is surprised when it works. Realizing their powers are back, Prue thinks fast and uses her powers to move the frozen Rex into the panther's path instead. Hannah doesn't have time to realize it is Rex and kills him. Horrified she reverts to her human form just before the pair of them are consumed by fire, presumably the price of failing the shadowy forces that sent them.

Prue is smuggled back into prison before Andy and Darryl arrive to tell her she is free to go. The Halliwells are glad to find the intact Book of Shadows in their attic, but are not sure who they have to thank for it. Leo comes in to tell them that he has fixed everything that needed to be fixed (the girls don't realise how true that is!) and will be on his way. When he's gone the sisters take out the page with the spell to remove their powers and burn it, vowing that they will never again consider giving up their supernatural powers. Downstairs Leo leaves the house in an unconventional way - "twinkling" into sparkly dust; leaving us to wonder exactly who he is and who sent him.
