Piper
Piper was the middle sister, and in the past often acted as arbiter between her sisters. With Prue gone she is now adjusting to her new role as eldest Halliwell. The most down to earth of the Charmed Ones, she has the power of temporal stasis, that is she is able to effectively freeze situations by "stopping" time. In Season Three she developed an opposite power, namely to speed up the molecules comprising someone or something to the point of explosion. In short, she can blow things up!
She became romantically involved with the Halliwells' Whitelighter (a kind of Guardian Angel for witches) Leo in Season One when she thought he was a mortal handyman. After a path that was anything but smooth, she finally married him in Season Three's Just Harried. She was carrying on something of a family tradition since the girls' mother, Patty, had an affair with her Whitelighter, Sam, which resulted in the birth their of half-sister Paige, though it would be a couple of decades or so before they found out about her!
In Season One she ran a restaurant, Quake. At the beginning of season Two, with financial assistance from Prue and Phoebe, she set up her own club P3. As well as being a successful business venture the club also provides the venue for the show's special musical guests.
Holly Marie Combs was born in San Diego, California on 3 December 1973. At the age of eight she moved with her family to New York, where she attended
the Professional Children's School. By the age of 10 she was working in television commercials
and landed her first film role as Debs Boon in "Sweet Hearts Dance" in 1988.
She has played a wide variety of roles in TV movies and feature films (including being hit on by Tom Cruise in "Born on the Fourth of July") but prior to "Charmed" she was probably best known for her role as Kimberley Brock in the offbeat series "Picket Fences".
