She has been romantically involved with several male characters, most notably Cole Turner (part-time assistant DA : full-time demon!) in Season Three. He and Phoebe felt a mutual and growing attraction, which made things complicated since he had been sent to destroy them! Their relationship was sorely tested as Cole battled his evil side while others from the dark side did their best to keep him evil. Things came to a head during a dramatic fight between Cole in the form of his demonic side, Belthazor, and Phoebe who had become a Banshee. Cole's efforts returned her to human form and both of them realized just how in love they are. They started Season Four together, but still with much to be sorted out to ensure they can stay that way.
Alyssa Milano is the daughter of Italian-American parents and grew up in a modest house on Staten Island. She entered show business at the age of seven, appearing as one of the orphans in the Broadway musical "Annie". She landed the part at an open audition which she only attended because her baby-sitter wanted to audition herself! Her next big break came when she was offered the role of Tony Micelli's daughter in "Who's the Boss?". It was a big step as it meant her family moving to LA, but the series was extremely successful and she played the part from 1983 to 1992.
She then sought out more "adult" roles and made several scantily clad appearances in magazines and advertisements, which further distanced her from from her child-actress past. A starring role in "Melrose Place" soon followed. One of her more offbeat movie roles was as a Bel-Air pool cleaner in the Robert Downey Sr film "Hugo Pool". Sean Penn and Malcolm McDowell also appeared.
She still loves stage work, and in 1991 she produced and starred in a production of "Butterflies are Free" in LA. A little known aspect of her career is that she is also an accomplished recording artist with five albums to her credit. She and co-star Brian Krause (Leo) have been dating since February 2001.
