| My choice for this *gulp* week's song is She's Got Issues,track 7 from TO's fifth album "Americana". This has got to be one of my all time favourites. It's about a woman who is messed up emotionally but it takes the humourous side of things. Written from her boyfriend's point of view, he comments on how he wishes she would "check her baggage at the door". The list of unusual actions she goes through still makes me laugh after listening to that song for a year. Not only does she "talk about her ex non-stop", but she aslo calls out his name in bed. He he he. There must be a skill in making such a serious subject funny. The video to this record is great too. The woman goes through her daily actions (including stealing photos of naked people from the photographer's where she works), while her mind converts ordinary scenes into cartoon horror. |
