It's punk. It's loud. It's sexy.

When I started listening to Green Day at age 7, one of the first things I noticed visually was Billie's sticker-adorned, baby-blue and white guitar. (i will now take this moment to say that I went for 7 years thinking that its a fender stratocaster until somebody emailed me and told me that its an Alexander...wow, I feel like an ass.) That was the same guitar that made me crave to start playing guitar, and now I have my own creme and white strat. But that's besides the point. Some say it's nickname is "Blue" or "Old Blue." Well, ok. Whatever. The guitar was given to him as a gift from his mom when he was 11. Once again, I'll take this moment to correct false facts: the guitar was NOT given to him as a present from his dad before he died. I got my facts straight this morning (3.26.01) when watching an old 1995 mtv special called "Green Day Raw," and those words come straight out of his mouth. It was previously owned by a band member of Beatnick Beach, and before that it was owned by a member of ...(will get name later) who taught Billie Joe the basics of the guitar. Today, at age 29, he still plays that guitar, and has played it for millions of people around the world. It spits personality at you, and who can deny it; it's damn sexy.
