Casting a circle

Casting a circle before a spell is an important ritual. This mental and physical preparation helps you to be focused and will have a postive effect on your magic.

Hold your wand out from your body, pointing northwards ( if your in the southarn hemispher start with your south) visualise a white light emanating from your wand and walk slowly in a Deosil direction ( widdershin is in the southern H).
As you walk say:-
" This circle is a positive field, a protective shield "
Walk the circle a second time saying:-
" This circle keeps me safe within, no harm can enter in "
Walk the circle a third time saying:-
" This circle will enhance my spell ensuring that i cast it well "

Facing north, trace a pentacle in the air with your wand. Do the same to the east, south, west.
Opening a circle

To open a circle at the end of a spell, point your wand Northwards and walk the circle in an widdershin direction saying:-
" I do not break this circle, but this circle is undone,
the spell that i have cast, it has begun,
Mindful of the witche's rede, Now the magic has been freed, I will harm none,
Yet if harm is done,
It shall return by the power of three "
I find that this is a very affective way of casting a circle, its quick and easy to remember, this means that you dont have to sift through hundreds of papers to find it.
