Deer In the Creek

Can you believe it, a deer in Butterfield Creek. I creeped over to the hammock, and watched him watch me. I whipped out my camera and zoomed in, snap, I got the picture. Sometimes I wish that I had a digital SLR with a more powerful zoom, but there is something to be said for the pocket camera.
So there we were watching each other. I think he got bored, and had some fleas. He began scratching as if he did not even care that I was standing on the bank looking in at him. After a few moments, he wandered north in the creek, and then he was gone.
Nilla was sitting at the back sliding door waiting to come out, she barked a few times. The deer looked around when she barked, but i guess figured it was not anything to be alarmed about.
After that, I waited around to see if I could spot him again, but the deer was gone, on to get more food elsewhere.
Later, I was up in the bedroom, and I heard a few chipmunks making all sorts of noise, when I looked out the window to see them, I looked up and saw a bright orange something in the tree. Then, it moved. It was just out side the window on a very close branch. It was orange and black, an oriole. I had never seen one, it was so bright.
Fantastic, no picture though, it was gone before I could even turn around.
Oh well, maybe next time.
