"...As Chairman of the Task Force on Free Association, not withstanding our political aspirations, I pledge to freedom and liberty by any means necessary.  America is a good and righteous Nation, and on behalf of our Task Force, I give our condolences to all the good people, to all the American citizens... I hope the Nation will rise to the occasion to deal with this sanely, as humanly as possible, but to hold those people accountable - if it takes forever... I am extending my fullest support to seek out those people as judiciously as we can, as a Nation of law,  but we shall never rest until we get a hold of those people and bring them to world justice."
In solidarity with the world
on the attack on America...
a special message
from Mr. Jose Ulloa Garrido, Chairman
of the Guam Task Force on Free Association (spoken on Guam's K-57 Talk-Radio

Updates
To our valued visitors and guests:  Please check here regularly for any updates we post
as  information becomes available.  Si Yu'os Ma'ase.
Copyrights: Nilibre declared and coined these phrases, first in 1994 at the Guam Land Conference and again in 1997 to the United Nations General Assembly:  "...One cannot be partially free... either you are free or you are not... when you free the land, you free the People of the Land..."  It's been ten years... many others have stolen the use of these words in song, in writing to the PDN and other publications, printing them on T-shirts, etc... but the message is lost on them.  These words carry a pledge which one must be prepared to make.  Beware!  They are not for sale, not for someone's profit, nor to demean our People.  Munga ma usa kumu ti un komprende sa siempre hagu ha masapit!

Update 12/23/05: Congratulations to Maga'Lahi Faet and Nasion Chamoru on their successful lobbying to secure the full $1,100 cost of living, or COLA, for some 7,000 GovGuam retirees!  As usual, from just a handful of advocates for justice, many will benefit.  Dangkolo na si Yu'os Ma'ase!

Update 7/21/05: Nasion Chamoru "marched" in the Liberation Day Parade... to make a statement, to remind our People of all the issues we are fighting for:  self-determination, land returns, our culture, our language, our heritage, our future as a People... when arriving at the reviewing stand where all the dignitaries are situated, it is customary to pause and present a gift, or sing, or something... the security surrounding the reviewing stand attempted to rush Nasion ahead, out of the way, pushing them, even the children with the chanters... get them out of the way... maybe the elite dignitaries were not proud to stand with US and show their "colors"... get these infidels out of the way!... wasn't that the way in ancient times... but now as then... we will not be pushed aside... elder Nasion members called the ones ahead back and told them to go ahead and do their chant and dance and make their presentation... Maga'haga Trini Torres made her statement... and then they went on their way... to Governor Camacho and Delegate Bordallo, as the highest political leaders present during this sorrowful treatment of our People... SHAME ON YOU!  MAN MATTO GI ET MAS TAIMAMAHLO I BIDAN MIYO GI ESTE I TAOTAO TANO!  MA PRESENTA SIHA GI MENAN MIYU YA TI ENAYUDA NI MA BEDAN NIHA... UN DIA SIEMPRE MAN OPPE HAMYO NI ESAO MIYO... TI MAIMAIGU SI YU'OS!  Biba Nasion Chamoru!  Biba Taotao Tano!  Nilibre!

Update 7/11/05: Now in progress... email campaign lobbying for Guam legislature to pass a law deferring property tax on ancestral lands for a period of time... so our families will not loose their lands due to "non-payment" of questionably calculated and devise property taxes... be watchful my People... please email us for more information.

Update 7/10/05: With regard to the upcoming trip (on July 14) by the Guam Delegation to attend the BRAC hearing in Los Angeles to ENSURE that the most powerful nation on earth understands that we all want increased military presence... because my goodness, we are at war and we surely want to lend a hand for that cause!  BUT, that the Governor and our lady Delegate are not going to mention "excess lands"... nosireee... that "it's not the right time"... these lands that belong to Chamorro families long awaiting their return... after 50-60 years, when will be the right time?... these "leaders" tripping over themselves as though their input has weight... when we are well aware that the United States will do what they will, irrespective of what we think and do here on Guam... such is our political status, or rather, non-status... Nilibre says, better they don't go... there's just much more important issues, urgent issues to attend to here at home... and there is no honor in groveling! Basta de malana!  RETURN OUR LANDS!

Update 7/16/04: Nilibre will not support a plebiscite not conducted with the dignity the process deserves.  We demand the presence of the Administering Power (U.S.) and the United Nations to witness and oversee a plebiscite that the Chamorro People will exercise in its quest for Chamorro self-determination after more than 400 years of colonization. A nonbinding, disorganized, undignified, and dishonorable process will be nothing but a "survey" and our political destiny is not a poll to be taken lightly!  The United States has an obligation, yet unfulfilled, to ensure and to promote the political aspirations of the Chamorro People of Guam.  We deserve nothing less!

Update 03/31/03: It appears the elected so-called "leadership" of Guam continues to add to the misfortune of Chamorro families continually being displaced from their ancestral lands!  But as Chief Hurao said to our Ancient Ones in preparation for battle against invaders of our homeland, "let us not lose courage in the presence of our misfortunes... we are stronger than we think!"  We are hurting, yes, and we feel betrayed by these our own who don't have the courage to do what is just and right, to usurp their authority for the sake of an oath to their high office, in allegiance to a constitution which does not even recognize the Chamorros as a fully free People.  But we have a message:  [old Chamorro proverb] "Greater is the fault on he who allows the injustice upon himself!"  Would that one day we will be governed by one who understands the meaning of sovereignty!
