This bird is rarely available on the market. It is also known as Green finch. It is one of the smallest estrildid finches with a length of 9-10cm.

The swee has a pleasant nature, and is lively but quieter than other finches. It is very compatible, but its song is unimpressive. It is feed the same as an orange cheek waxbill.

The cocks plumage is grey on the upper head and neck, rump and upper tail shinning red, the tail black. The sides of the head, cheeks and throat are black or light grey. The breast is light grey, underbody is light earth-yellow. The upper beak is black and the lower is coral red and the feet are black. The hens colors are the same but duller.
