St. Kitts

Yikes, this is turning into a long web page about our vacation! Time to wrap it up.

Turtle Beach. There were supposed to be monkeys. They eluded us.

Well, no monkeys, but an awesome view of Nevis.

On our honeymoon, we visited this beach called Cockelshell Bay, which the guide book described as white sandy beach with shells and like paradise. It scared the doo doo out of Colt because we were there ALONE. Totally alone. And the taxi wasn't coming back for us for four hours. For 10 years, I have imagined what that place looks like. Primarily, it is my "happy place." Also, I imagine the huge hotel that must be there now because surely someone else discovered it.

In 1997, it was empty but for a few goats and this shell of a building.

The only two humans on the beach in 1997 with a few scattered palms.

TODAY. Almost as it was before. The shell of the building is gone. Torn down according to Mr. Thomas our taxi driver that day, who by the way, got an extra tip on Good Friday for taking us out of the way to go see it. He was happy, buddy.

Trying to recreate that same pose. Actually, we think the palm in the original pic now make up the bar/shack. It must be the "ting" to have a bar on every beach.

Getting our relaxation on before the trip home.

Last beach photo of the trip: 1997 & 2007
(approx the same place on Frigate Bay)

I think we'll make plans to go back before 2017.
