Entry for August 4, 2008

Oh, my goodness....

Really 2 months have passed since I last blogged???  I cannot believe it.  It feels just like yesterday.  Time flies.  We have been busy but have stayed relatively close to home.  I think Milwaukee, Green Bay and Springfield have been our biggest adventures.

I have several pictures from so many different things.  I am adding 5 albums today!  There is a candids album from July, Skyler's Horse Camp album, Trip to the Zoo album, Trip to Green Bay album, and a Lake album.

At the beginning of summer we quickly adjusted to a slower pace....I.E.  I actually get to sleep a little bit in the morning :-)  It makes for a much happier mommy!  We have played outside quite a bit and have had several playdates with other kids in our area.

We have had one trip up to Green Bay to visit our good friends, the Draxlers and their new baby Colton.  It was so much fun and our friends the Vanden Huevels also hung out.

It was much to my sadness when I realized my baby girl is really growing up when I dropped her at Horse Camp at the Diettrich Farm on July 7th.  I cannot believe that she is old enough to do such a thing!  I am really glad we allowed her to participate in the camp.  She learned so much about horses and how to care for them.  She even got to ride "her" horse Outlaw daily.  And she did several craft projects.  She loved it, loved it, loved it!!!  Needless to say she will be going back next year.

Ayden turned 2 yesterday.  It was really traumatic for me to realize that my baby is now a toddler and really not a baby at all.  I am still trying to get over it.  He is already starting to potty train and is being very good with it.  Minus the pooping next to the toilet thing.  I keep trying to explain the he is doing good but the poop MUST be in the toilet and not on the floor :-)

Brett is doing great.  Growing fast!  He is such a big kid and is just a funny man.  He loves to laugh and get a rise from anyone.  He just wants to make people laugh.  He has done so many crazy and wild things this summer and has really grown to be a great big brother.  Him and Ayden are often inseparable.

As for Derek and I....Work continues to dominate most of Derek's time.  He is doing good though and in this economy that's a hard thing to do.  He continues to strive for excellence and really loves his job.  I have been busy too.  I have been picking up extra hours since we have decided that I will cut down to per diem September 1st.

Our basement will be completely finished come August 8th.  We get carpet this week and trim.  We are excited for the entire basement to be completed.  We also undertook renovating the backyard this summer.  And I am very pleased to announce we added a luxurious hot tub!!  We have had a lot of great times in that thing!  I love our new patio too.

So, not much new.  Check out our albums page later in the day!
