Entry for January 14, 2008

I took a wild detour from my normal pink hues and decided to go with this pretty blue for a font color!!  Silly, I know....

How is everyone??  We hope the move is going well for Papa and Gram...we cannot wait to come and see your new pad!

We have had a busy weekend.  We had our first ice skating lessons...which the kids absolutely loved.  Brett giggled the whole time.  I think it is great for him to have something to be involved in.  He is finally releasing some of that energy on something productive.  Skyler enjoys it a lot too and she was fairly well balanced...not too much falling.

After the skating lessons we headed up to Nick Vanier's birthday party at Gymboree.  It was a blast.  Basically there is a huge room with soft (some hard) stuff to crawl all over on and do certain games.  The kids had a great time.  I wish we had one close to us.  Then Maren and Kerry came home with us.  Kerry and I had "big" plans to go to dinner.  Well, on the way home from Milwaukee the babysitter texted that something came up and she wouldn't be able to babysit.  I was heartbroken.  Kerry being the good sport she is didn't seem to mind at all.

All during this time I had been up since 7 the previous am.  I was so exhausted.  Derek of course was at the game (Packers in case anyone was wondering ;-)).  So we just headed home and ordered in.  I fell asleep on the couch shortly after Kerry and I got the kids to bed.  Probably in mid conversation...sorry Ker.  Derek came home late that night after getting into a car accident!!!  Robby was driving and I guess some car just pulled right out in front of them, hit and then took off!  I guess Robby's car sustained minor damage...but I was a little worried.  Derek assures me he is just fine.

So the next morning (Sunday) I informed Derek that since Kerry and I didn't get our girl time he could watch the kids and I could go out with her for a little bit.  So we ventured to the Outlet mall and to lunch.  We had a fun time, however it was cut short because Derek and Skyler had to go to the.....HANNAH MONTANA CONCERT!!!!!!!

Skyler was dressed to the nines!  She was so cute.  She had all this jewelry on and pins.  She was so excited.  So they left the house shortly after one and went onto the Stutzman's house to pick up Chris and Maddie.  The four of them ate lunch and then headed to the concert.  They had a fabulous time.  I guess the girls were just screaming and dancing the entire time.  I am so glad they had a blast and a chance to bond with their daddies.

I guess the girls just passed out in the car on the way home and it was only like 6:00!

Well, not much going on this week besides dance and ice skating lessons.  Next week we have a Tobogan Party along with lessons.  I am glad to be able to go....I took Friday night off on a whim and then this came up!

I have added three new albums:  January 2007, Hannah Montana Concert and an album of Skyler's pictures from her new digital camera.

Love You all: Nikki, Derek, Brett, Skyler, and Ayden
