Boxers Or Briefs

Jacquie looked from behind her lashes and squinted to make out 5 people seated at a table for six. They had been sitting there not really saying much of anything for the past 10 minutes. Everyone was dressed in black except for a blue bandanna on an old mans forehead. She looked at Miranda, her best friend and also the one who had gotten her the job here as a waitress. They were both single but it wasnt as if they were bad looking. Miranda had naturally wavy blond hair that fell to a little past shoulder length, dark crystal blue eyes with a brown freckle in their depths. She was older than Jacquie but not as tall. At one point the two of them could have been mistaken for sisters. Jacquie also had blond hair that used to be naturally wavy. Not being able to put up with the unruly curls she settled for a perm to control them. The look somehow suited her. Her eyes were blue as well but different from Mirandas. They were a lighter blue but often a sea green color that had a dark blue, almost black rim to them. Over all the thing about Miranda was her cheery personality. She could never speak bad about anyone. Sometimes Jacquie had to wonder how she could do it. Always keeping that smile on her face, like it was permanently painted on.

I wonder whats up with them?

Miranda turned to look at her friend. A confused look on her face. Who? That table over there? She nodded her head in the direction of the table of six for it was never polite to point.

Ya them. Who else in this restaurant looks like their getting ready to go to a funeral? Chuckling a little at her friend who only scowled at the remark.

They dont look like the are going to a funeral. Just because they wear black doesnt mean someone died. You always jump to conclusions dont you.

Jacquie smiled and picked up two more menus from behind the counter. Yes, thats why your my friend. Besides, you cant look at that extremely gorgeous guy with the shoulder brown hair who has those incredulously green eyes and say that your not a little curious.

Miranda laughed and startled a waiter that was walking by, almost making him drop his tray. Arching her eye brows and giving Jacquie a supprized look.

The only response was, I take notice. You cant tell me that you didnt. Now come on. You know hes hot.

Heaving a sigh Miranda sat back into the office chair and swung it around enough so that she had a perfect view of the good looking mysterious man seated with the other 4. Well...he is good looking. Thats it...good looking? Ok, ok, hes gorgeous! Who in their right mind wouldnt be attracted to him? Smiling a satisfied grin Jacquie leaned against the counter to look at her friend. Thats better.

Both women had been staring off into space, both lost in their own fantasy world until Jacquie spoke up and interrupted Mirandas thoughts. I wonder if he wears boxers or briefs?

What! Boxers or Briefs? Where did you come up with that? Oh wait, I dont wanna know.

Hey! Its a reasonable question. I was just wondering what kind of man he is. You know. The ultimate question...boxers or briefs.

Sometimes I dont know about you. Both continued to laugh and discuss the issue of Boxers or Briefs.

Hi, sorry Im late. Traffic. Nikita jogged over to their table after passing by the counter where two women were deep in conversation and could be heard giggling from time to time. She slid into the booth Next to Walter, who was Next to Birky, who was next to Michael, who in turn was next to Maddy and Operations.

She took one look at Operations and could tell that he was not a happy camper. Nikita leaned over and whispered into Walters ear. Did ya get the stuff?

Turning to look at her the old bomb expert smiled that flirtatious smile he had so often used when it came to Niktia. Sure did. Slip a little into his drink and he will definitely NOT be himself. It might just be a change for the better.

And he wont remember a thing tomorrow, right?

Right.

Operations was getting impatient and interrupted the twos whispering session. We have been waiting 15 minutes Nikita. You can at least tell us why we are here.

I just thought that we could all use a break thats all. Have a little fun together out side of the section.

Madeline smiled and rested her hand on Operations when she knew he was going to snap at her. I think thats a very good idea Nikita. A little change of scenery is sometimes a good thing. Things were getting too stressful. This is a wonderful idea.

Madeline if you would excuse me, I have a few phone calls to make. I just want to check in, make sure everythings ok back at the Section.

When Operations left the table Walter and Birkoff distracted Madeline by asking her if she could play any mind games with the waiter who was going to be bringing them more drinks. As they did this Nikita slipped the powder into Operations drink and mixed it in. Odorless, tasteless, he would never suspect it.

About 3 drinks later Nikita and Walter looked at each other. It was working. Operations was actually acting more human! He was laughing and actually joking around with them. Something none of them had ever seen or experienced before and Nikita, Walter, Birkoff, and Michael where enjoying every minute of it. During Operations trip to the bathroom they had told Madeline what they had done because she was starting to get suspicious and to their supprize she was fine with it. She had actually said that this would be quite interesting and that they should take advantage of the opportunity to see him this way. But not to take advantage too much of course.

As Operations was heading back towards their table Walter got an idea. He got up and told Michael and Birkoff to get up as well. They had all just gotten out of their seats when Operations returned. Madeline and Nikita looked at the four some with curiosity. What are you up to Walter.

Walter smiled and looked over at the stage where a girl was singing kareoke. Nothing. Just taking advantage of the situation thats all.

Nikitas blue eyes searched Walters face, she knew whatever was going through his head could not be good. But what ever it was she was certain that it would definitely have entertainment value. Walter, what are you thinking?

He smiled down at her and winked. Come on guys. This will be fun...I promise. And under his breath he muttered, or at least well have fun trying.

Walter lead the other 3 towards the stage and when the girl had finished singing he pushed them all onto the stage and grabbed 2 microphones. Huddling together they whispered softly to each other and after about a minute all turned around. Operations and Birky were standing together holding the first mic. While Michael and Walter were holding the second mic.

Both Madeline and Nikita sat together in the booth and waited to see what Walter had up his sleeve. They exchanged glances and couldnt help but laugh when they heard the music start and Walter and Birky begin to sing.

Hi Barbie

Hi Ken

Do you wanna go for a ride?

Sure Ken.

Jump in.

Walter and Birky sang first and then Michael joined Walter in singing the Guys part and Operations joined Birky in singing the girls part. They all seemed to be having a good time and were making a whole joke out of it. But one look at Michael and Nikita knew that he wasnt as happy as he appeared to be. He was still trying to retain that element of control and have no expression on his face but the whole situation was starting to get to him and he was actually starting to smile. They quickly found out that once Michael started to smile it was very hard for him to stop.

Im a barbie girl, in a barbie world

life is plastic, its fantastic.

You can brush my hair, undress me every where.

Imagination, life is your creation.

Come on Barbie, lets go party.

Ah, Ah, Ah, yea

Michael wasnt the only one who couldnt stop smiling. Madeline and Nikita had smiles on their face ear to ear and it seemed that they were permanently plastered there. Everyone else in the room was enjoying it as well. The only other sound that you could hear over the music and the high and low voices of the 4 up on stage was the sound of laughter.

Im a blond bimbo girl, in a fantasy world.

Dress me up, make it tight, Im your dolly.

Youre my doll, rocknroll, feel the glamour in pink.

Kiss me here, touch me there, hanky panky.

You can touch, you can play, if you say: Im always yours

With all the extra hand movements that they were doing to go along with the words of the song it was making everyone laugh even harder. Operations and Birky were acting like they were some kind of Blond bombshells, which they were not which made it even funnier. They were flipping their imaginary hair over their shoulders and rubbing their hands over their bodies.

Make me walk, make me talk, do whatever you please.

I can act like a star, I can beg on my knees.

Come jump in, bimbo friend, let us do it again.

Hit the town, fool around, lets go party.

Nikita and Madeline were laughing so hard that tears started to come out of their eyes. They couldnt stop. Their sides and faces hurt from laughing so hard but they couldnt seem to get under control. Every time they would almost be under control, they would hear Operations and Birkys girlie high voices singing the words and burst out laughing again.

You can touch, you can play, if you say: Im always yours

You can touch, you can play, if you say: Im always yours

Come on Barbie, lets go party!

Ah, ah, ah, yea

Come on Barbie, lets go party!

Ah, ah, ah, yea

Come on Barbie, lets go party!

The words started to fade out and Operations, Birky, Walter, and Michael all took a bow. Even though the song had stopped the laughter still hadnt gone away completely. This was something that Madeline, Nikita, Walter, Birky, and Michael would be talking about for a LONG time. Of course Operations wouldnt remember any of this in the morning.

They all returned to the booth and grabbed their coats. Operations took Madelines arm in his and Michael did the same with Nikita. They were all still laughing as they headed out the door and to their cars to return to the Section and their homes.

As the six walked past the counter and out the doors Jacquie and Miranda were just getting the last of their giggles out from seeing the four sing. They both watched with an obsessed gleam in their eye as Michael walked out. It wasnt until he was out of sight that Jacquie turned to Miranda, leaned her head on the counter, and sighed.

Miranda looked up at her friend and knew exactly what she was thinking. Boxers or briefs?

They both looked at each other and smiled. Replying at the same time. Briefs.
