One of the first huge iron steamships was "Great Eastern" constructed in England in 1858. It had 6 masts and complete sailing arms. Besides its steam installation by capacity 8000 hp actuated the fodder screw and two large of a wheel with blades established on boards. Length of the ship - 210, 4 м, width - 22 м, displacement - 33 000 т. "Great Eastern" was under construction in calculating on 4000 passengers.
