Sailor Moon is a Japanese cartoon (Called Anime for all who don't know) and Comic book (Called Manga for all who don't know) written by Naoko Takeuchi.
It's the story of a young girl who's a "school-girl-turned-superhero" and is named Usagi Tsukino ( Bunny of the Moon/ Serena in America). She lives in Japan and goes Juuban (crossroads) High school until one day she accidently steps on a poor helpless cat. Enter Luna, who, unbeknownst to Usagi (can talk and) is sent form the past to help her change into sailor moon to fight off all the foreces of evil. Eventually Serena gets the hang of the whole fighting crime thing and meets the Sailor Scouts Along the way: Minako Aino ( Of love and beauty/ Sailor Venus, previously the mysterious Sailor V), Ami Mizuno ( Sailor Mercury), Makoto Kino ( known as lita in america/ Sailor Jupiter) and Rei Hino( Sailor Mars).Together the sailor scouts and sailor moon search for the moon princess as they fight off queen Beryl to save the universe from the evil black moon.
