My 1967 Ford Taunus 12m P6

In April 2007 I bought this 40 year old Ford Taunus 12m P6. It is identical to my father's first car, which he owned from 1967 till 1973. This car had stayed with the same family for forty years.

Body: The most serious rust is located in the wheel arches mainly on the fenders and the adjacent panel area, in the boot near the fenders and in the spare wheel well and in the passenger compartment floor. Bumps on the fenders have been poorly repaired. Where rust is not present the paint is nice, amazingly bright after it was given a good shine. All chrom trim is in perfect condition. Rubber seals on both windscreens and on door frames are O.K., but seals on all four doors and boot are completely destroyed.
Interior: The fascia, controls and streering wheel look nice. The upholstery ( red-bordeaux fabric finished in leatherette of the same colour)  is original, the two front seats have tears and holes in places, but the back seat is in very good condition. The roof lining is OK but a small tear. The rack behind the back seat has three holes and evident signs of age.
Engine: The previous owner had fitted the V4 1.5 lt engine from the 15m, had converted it to run on liquid gas, had upgraded the electrical system to 12V and had installed a fan in front of the cooler to avoid overheating in city traffic. I had the liquid gas removed. The engine runs decently, but needs new exhaust pipes, new brakes and new shock absorbers..
