| Future Trunks first appeared in episode #104. He destroyed Freiza, (who survived the explosion on Namak) and Freiza's father King Cold easily by transforming into a super saiyan and amazed the other Z warriors who were watching nearby. He asked them if they'd like to join him and wait for Goku, who was returning from Namak. They followed him to a spot in the desert, where he said Goku was going to land in two hours. After two hours had passed, Goku landed nearby. Trunks asked to speak with Goku alone and told him that he was from the future and came to warn him about two killer androids who would terrorize the earth. He also said that Goku was going to die from a heart virus caused by his new 'Instant Transmission' technique that he learned on Planet Yardrat. There's no cure yet, but in Trunks' time there is. He gives Goku the antidote and says the androids will arrive in 3 years. He then returns to his own time. Three years later, he returns to the present timeline and is surprised to see that the two androids, (Androids 19 and 20) are not the ones that are terrorizing his time. Android 20 (who is really Dr. Gero from the old Red Ribbon Army in Dragonball) returns to his labratory after being defeated by the Z warriors. He releases Androids 17 and 18, which are the androids from Trunks' time. They kill Dr. Gero and release Android 16, who was designed for the specific purpose of killing Goku. Vegeta battles Android 18 and loses to her when she breaks his arm. Trunks interferes in the battle to help his father and is beaten by Androids 17 and 18. After everyone heals with a senzu bean, Bulma sends a picture of a strange machine, and Trunks reconizes it as the one he used to travel to the past. Trunks, Gohan and Bulma investigate it and find Cell's eggshells. They then hear about a monster attacking the cities and Trunks realizes it's the monster from the eggshells. Trunks, Gohan and Vegeta arrive after Piccolo fights with Cell. Trunks and Krillan go to Dr. Gero's lab and find the plans for Android 17. They then destroy the lab. Trunks then goes off to find Vegeta, who is training by himself in the mountains. Goku, (who has recovered from his heart virus) tells Vegeta and Trunks about the Room of Spirit and Time. Trunks and Vegeta enter and train for one year. When they come out, Trunks has grown his hair down to his shoulders. Bulma arrives and gives everyone saiyan armor that she modeled after Vegetas. Trunks and Vegeta leave to battle Cell, who has now reached his 2nd form. Trunks watches as Vegeta beats Cell. Vegeta allows Cell to absorb Android 18 so he can become complete because he wants a real challenge. Trunks tries to stop Cell and Vegeta tries to stop Trunks. Trunks blasts Vegeta after Vegeta says he doesn't have the courage to. Cell still absorbs Android 18 and becomes perfect. To be continued... |
