Where to start??? Some of you I haven't talked to for probably over a year. Not a whole lot has really changed. I am still the same old Nika for the most part. I guess I will start around a year ago.
Last July I met my boyfriend Travis! He is a wonderful man, and I love him very much. We will have been together a year July 21st. He is from Willows. For those of you that don't know where Willows is, it is 30 minutes away from me. It is a small town about the size of Gridley. I-5 runs right along side of it. No, I didn't meet him on the internet. (No offense to those of you that I DID meet on the internet!) hehe! He walked into the store last July and we went out on our first date a week later. He goes to Humboldt University in Eureka, California. He is a Wildlife Major. Another year and he will be done. He is home for the summer though and working on a fire crew out of the Sacramento Wildlife Refuge. I am very happy! I love him with all my heart and I don't know what I would do without him.
I am still working 2 jobs, although I plan to quit the store very very soon! I am still working in Oroville at Mesa Vista School with my little deaf kiddies. They finally moved me up out of kindergarten and on to 5th grade. To be honest I miss kindergarten! Kids are much cuter at that age! The fifth graders were fun this year though, although it was a bit more challenging for me. I am not sure yet what age group I will be with this next coming year.
Most of you know, but some of you don't..... We lost my dad this year. He died of a heart attack in December. It happend at 2:00 am December 31st. It has been rough, but we are doing alright. Some days are good, and others a really really hard. It almost still doesn't seem real sometimes. We are doing fine though, times are a little tough, mom is looking for work, and I really wish that I could help her out. Hopefully she will find something soon.
Heidi was living in Sacramento, but is now back home. She will be 22 in Nov. Eric went to Ricks College all last year and is now back home. He will be 19 June 30th. He will be leaving on his mission sometime probably in the next 4 months or so. Kelsey and Kaleb are 15. And I will be 26 on October 25th. (hint hint)
I have a puppy! His name is Tank! Trav's big black lab Jackson, and his brothers female black lab Shadow had puppies! 9 of them!!! 3 black, 2 yellow and 4 chocolate. Trav and I have the biggest black male out of the bunch. I need to take some pictures because he is already as big as his mom is! He is such a cute puppy!
Well folks! I know this wasn't any thrilling juicy update....maybe some other time. Things have just been pretty regular lately. Not a whole lot of "hoopla" around here. I am so sorry to those I have ignored lately! I just cannot seem to find the time to write or call or anything. When I do have free time I try to spend it with Travis because we don't have that much time together.. And I am no longer a night owl like before.
