Had to climb the 100s of steps of the hollow walls of the Dome of St.Peter's Basilica to take this panoramic shot of the Vatican and the city of Rome. Its quite surprising that the Vatican is the smallest country in the world and the pope has special railways to carry his mail !
A pitstop on the steep stairway through the hollow walls of the dome to see the Holy week's Mass taking place below. Its amazing how Artists and construstion workers could have worked on the dome at this height in the 1600s.
a shot of one of the Indian -run souvenir shops outside the Vatican ! its funny how the Indians seem to penetrate and adapt so easily into every culture!! There were more Indian restaurants than their own, in Luxembourg!
A glorious dusk facing the altar side of the Basilica. It is no wonder that its the most fascinating cathedral in the world as its almost an open-exhibit museum by itself!
Piazza Venizia, one of Michelangelo's masterpieces or Architecture. Actually, I'm sure the one behind it was constructed by him, but not sure if this one was entirely his work.
I should call it the leaning tower of Visa instead, as the people in queue there were standing for 4 hours to get tickets to the top !! They only let people in select numbers, in fear of overweight at the top !
The ever popular Coloseum. There's an equally big one in Verona, but this one is probably popular because of its proximity to the Caesarean palaces and ruins.
