St.Petersburg Palace Square - Every square in St.Petersburg is so much bigger and better than any other European city's squares, because they were perfectly designed and meant to serve their purpose, and highlight the fact of being 'Grand' and unsurpassed. It is quite scary however, to see soldiers in perfect uniforms, walking in legions all the time, everywhere, which gives you the feeling of being in a country thats perfectly ready to be at war. Their armed troup of 1 million ready soldiers, shows how powerful the Russian federation actually is. The Naval academy and the Military academy being close by this square, there was always a cold and eerie feeling as officers in uniforms kept marching everywhere. Russians are supposed to carry their passport with them all the time, anywhere in Russia, so it shows how much more essential that would be for tourists and outsiders. However, the law is actually too flexible to the local residents, and thats why crime is high.
