Cairo- skyline - Cairo skyline is not much different from any African/Asian 3rd world city's skyline. The winters are exceptionally cold, and can touch zero degrees C, and it is quite unusual, the pyramids and the desert, being just about 30 km from Cairo is actually freezing cold for many months of the year. My general impression of the Pyramids was to imagine hot steaming deserts, but to see them in a really cold context of an environment was quite an amazing experience. Strange as it may seem, I felt Cairo was colder than London!
