Mortals: The Game
This comic is about two Great Omnipotent Deities (GODs) who are participating in a
challenge which takes the form of a board game. It's kind of a cross between Magic:The
Gathering and Monopoly.
The catch is that their actions are actual carried out in a world with real people. They
each have a mortal representing them who basically follows the path of their game piece.
The M:TG aspect is shown by the use of cards, mostly monster-summoning cards and
effect cards. They are mostly used in battle, but can apply anywhere in the game that
a GOD feels is convenient.
Battle:
When the mortals meet (the game pieces are on the same space), they battle. The
GODs may summon creatures and play effect cards, but it is the mortals who actually
direct the battle. The mortals are in protected command centres which they direct their
forces from. They have a view of the battlefield and can communicate with each other.
If all of one mortal's creatures are defeated, their command centre disappears and they
enter the battle themselves. Battle ends when an attack against a mortal is successful.
The winner of the battle gains a permanent enchantment for the mortal, and a powerful
card for the GOD to play.
