| Classic live shot taken by Ian Dickson of Paul Weller of the Jam on one of their massive UK tours during the 1977. Not readily accepted into punk circles but the kids fucking loved them. Stylish, energetic and completely absorbing in a live situation. They managed to bring that energy to their their singles. The albums however were rather patchy affairs but for 18 months when they wore those black suits these were one of the best UK punk outfits to catch. Of course the Jam went on to outsell most of their punk rivals with a sucessful pop career into the early 80's before splitting up at the height of their fame. |
