Manufactured Romance

Nina Spencer first drummed for all girl punk band
Muvvers Pride before leaving to join 4th Reich which were one of those highly underrated Punks acts knocking around the late 70's/early 80's London punk scene. Nina had now become their vocalist and her photogenic appearance got her noticed as she's pictured here in 1979. They changed names again to Lost Property which scored them a slot on the UK Subs tour and an appearance in the Punk movie Punk Can Take it. They quickly drummed up a loyal mad army of fans around the capital's venues. After a few years playing and more name changes they settled on Manufactured Romance and signed to Fresh Records who released their one and only 45 'Time of your Life'/ 'Room to breathe ' in April 1981. But after clashing swords amongst band members with or about Nina's spiralling weight problem which she spent 6 months in hospital battling. They regrouped in '84 done a Radio One session and a tour of Italy before disappearing into the sunset.. Nina has now resurfaced over in California where she lives and works in Radio under the name Steel Kitten playing Hip Hop...
Come back Nina we still love ya!
