Coming Home
When I came home To a familiar place Certain things had changed, It was written on my face
Old friends never asked, What was it like, how did it feel? To fire and dodge bullets With jackets of steel
" I just kept it inside The
memories stayed real " There was no time for sharing, With any but the few Who had been there beside me, The only others that knew.
It seems minds have awakened To that horrible war Fought not just in Asia, But here too on our shore.
It's great to be a Vet now, A Patriot and more So many years after The end of that war
May God bless our brothers Who passed on before Let them know there is settlement, Even after our war!
