Contestants are surprised by MTV staff and whisked away to undergo a total transformation into their favorite star. It includes hair, make-up, clothing and life-style. Example: One young female was made up to look like Brittany Spears. She was given an intense rehearsal in music and choreographing to a well-known Brittany hit. The contestant and professional back-up singers and dancers performed the number on camera.

A single person embarks on a joint "date" with two possible "mates". After fierce competition for the single's attention, one of the possible mates is chosen to finish the date. The other is "dismissed". Fairly sleazy.

DOG EAT DOG
On NBC. Mondays. 9PM Eastern.
A one hour show. Players spend a day together before the show in order to study their opponents' strengths and weaknesses.� The game begins with players nominating one person as the most likely to fail at the first stunt. If that person does fail, he or she's eliminated from the game; if the challenge is completed, the successful competitor gets to toss out someone else out. The final contestant then takes on the losing players for the title of "Top Dog," as well as a cash prize.

ECO-CHALLENGE

A single person is set-up with four possible mates on a marathon joint date. The "mates" are elimidated throughout the date until only one remains. This winner gets to finish the date. Sleazy attention getting behavior is the order of the day.

Example: A daughter worked in her mother's corporate office. Her mother wore her clothes, attended her high school and fought with a fellow student over a boy. Teaches life lessons without being heavy-handed. Entertaining and often quite imaginative.

FRONTIER HOUSE

The three families who took part in PBS' series "Frontier House" spent five months in an isolated Montana valley living as if it were 1883, with no present-day conveniences or contact with the 21st-century world.
Contestants built log cabins, grew crops, hunted and fished to survive.

Basically an entertaining documentary series on how to create a runaway commercial success with the right packaging.

"Under One Roof" will fly American families to the island of Fiji (in the same vicinity as "Survivor 4's" location) where they must work as teams to eliminate other families, with the ultimate goal being to win a $250,000.00 luxury house on the beach.
"Under One Roof" filmed over three weeks in November 2001.
LOVED this show! It was originally CANCELED after episode two by the UPN Network! Good to see it return.
