If Mom Were A Dog
By Kerensa Hetz Grey, on the occasion of mothers 350th birthday. (In dog years)

If Mom were a dog
What kind would she be?
One that is loyal, yet yearns to be free.

A Bully perhaps
With her bark and no bite.
Or a Corgi
Who makes all else line up just right.
A Dachshund perchance
With a vibrating bed, asleep in the sun for long hours on end.

A Husky, a Deerie, an Aussietsk, tsk.
Not one sounds just right,
Not one really fits.

A Newfies too big, a Whippet too small;
A Poodle too fancy, a Bulldog too dull.
A working dog? Maybedepends on the job.
A pet pampered poshlyshed not be a snob!

I think if I think of each dog that I know,
I could sit here until my poor mind would explode.
A jumble of these I am sure I could fix,
To resemble my mother-----

SHE MUST BE A MIX !
