-- A NEW YEAR --

The Xbox in January 2002

MonoGP Impressions (01/26)

I was real suprised when i saw this title. Impressive graphics and extensive detail was put in this racing cycle game. THQ sponsered all European MonoGP tracks. The title looks like the next Gran Tranismo on X-BOX. It's no wonder the developer made good use to X-BOX's hugemugest buffer (128 MB, twice that of gamecube). (Atleast 2 generations ahead of today's computers) The UK developer is also creating both this game and Title Defense for Cube and X-Box. I am looking forward to it's release on Gamecube. I have one.

Return to Castle Wolfenstine on X-BOX !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (01/17)

The suprisenly good First Person Shooter for the PC will have releases on both Playstation 2 and X-BOX. The game is the enhanced verison of the 1989 FPS Wolfenstine. The game takes place in Germany during World War II with the exception of technolical experiments going bad. The game is extremely detailed and has the same concepts of Quake III with a “Team Deathmatch point of view” What I like about this game is that its like Capture the Flag on Unreal Tournament; only one objective and very good AI on both sides. The sequel was long awaited ever since before Quake (1995). Now the sequel this appeared on shelves 2 weeks ago and been sold-out in a couple days.

Silent Hill 2 Impressions (01/17)

Komani came out with a Resident Evil type genre for Playstation in 1998. The first game won a emmy in the Gamers Choice Awards held at E3. Silent Hill One was unsettling and in some ways ingenious from what i read in the reviews. Silent Hill 2 starts out where the first left. On playstation 2, the game hides its lesser processing power by purposely making it look like it has a film of dust over the screen. It can hide the characters edgy appearance while retaining its smoothness. This, I thought was impressive for a Playstation 2 game since you forget what the Xbox graphics look like when playing the game up close. The X-Box verison takes the 'dust' away but the game looks exactly alike. One up front concept is the fact that Resident Evil on Gamecube looks almost as good. Sure you might get some better vividness, but this shows how much you really don't need. The GCN discs are even half the size, and the visuals are still as crisp.

Sega to bring back Daytona USA (01/03)

Sega and Hasbro Interactive are supposing working on a Daytona USA version exclusive to the X-Box to be set to release sometime later this year.

Halo gets extension disc (01/03)

Well what do you know. Microsoft and Bungisoft are going to make a online exstention for the US version of the first person shooter, Halo. The expansion will be uploaded on the impressally large harddisc the X-Box has. Microsoft is rumored of calling the expansion, Halo 1.5. Some features will be some sort of voice decoding over a modem that will allow you to speak and be seen in text (*most realistically short command fraises to do actions; also used in SeaMan for the Dreamcast.) Personal impressions on this : I wish Microsoft would put this game on Gamecube, except that it will have Metroid Prime released in May. So its not goin to be a issue in my view.
