my last final is december 20th for some reason... but after all this school nonsense is through, i hope to be hard at work writing, recording and performing music. steve and i have been practicing and recording a bit, and i hope this will continue. however, we need a drummer! let me know if you know any very talented drummers who would like to try out. also, the fictions will be playing next month. join the mailing list for all the updates! write me if you want to join said list. other than that, just another empty month. take care folks.

so, i've found a bassist! his name is steve, and he is really neat. he likes depeche mode, and 80's music, and weird music. he is a very nice chap, and i'm glad to have him. we are currently working out the songs, he's adding some amazing things. very soon, he is going to come over and record his bass/keyboard parts onto the songs, hopefully we'll have some samples of some stuff, and your ears can be happy. we will take over the world as soon as we have a drummer. are you a drummer? let me know please.
besides that, josh (from the fictions) and i have been writing a themed e.p. telling a magical story of a man and a town. we've got about 4 songs so far, and we might just bust out with an acoustic performance soon, we shall see.
i've got a week off of school, so pray that i get as much music work done as possible, i've been slacking. oh yeah, sorry about the pop-ups gang. more updates later!

hello loved ones!
no, i have not forgotten about you, but... i have been busy with school, work, being sad and writing songs! actually, haven't written anything new since the big boom a while back, but i have been recording a-plenty. hope to get more done this week since i've got some time off work. hope you can all hear and enjoy it soon too. i'll try not to be so long this time.

current anecdote:

august can go straight to hell.

from the knitting factory:
How about that Flaming Lips show last night? I have to say that was one of the most amazing shows we at the Knitting Factory have had the pleasure of presenting. And this joint was packed to the gills with celebrities. In attendance were film stars Elijah Wood, Nicky Katt, Adam Goldberg and Giovanni Ribisi, and well as Beck, Juan Lopez, and Eliott Smith. Also on hand were Matt Stone of South Park fame as well Los Angeles-based music legend Van Dyke Parks. Talk about one hell of a night! I'll be washing the confetti out of my hair for the next six weeks.

DO YOU REALIZE??

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize - we're floating in space
Do You Realize - that happiness makes you cry
Do You Realize - that everyone you know someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - Oh - Oh - Oh
Do You Realize - that everyone you know
Someday will die

And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know
You realize that life goes fast
It's hard to make the good things last
You realize the sun doesn't go down
It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

Do You Realize - that you have the most beautiful face
Do You Realize??

i'm not sure if i put this up or not, but i think it's worth re-telling if in fact you've heard this before. a while ago, i woke up one morning, and went into the kitchen and gave me mum a kiss. she was in a giddy mood for some reason, my mom's so cool, but she then proceded to ask about the girl situation in my life. she asked if i had a girlfriend, or if i liked any girls or something of that sort, i can't remember exactly, but i then replied "mom... girls don't like me". or at least i tried to. HOWEVER, the entire conversation was in spanish, and i ended up saying "i don't like girls" by accident. my mom gave me a weird look, then i gave up and said it in english. so for a brief moment that particular morning, my mother thought i was a homosexual.

so i've been reaping the benefits of satellite television recently. not much else to do during these lonely summer days. i get a bunch of cool music channels, like much music, vh1 classic, mtv 2, etc... now i can watch radical things like old ed sullivan show performances, old 80's music videos with chevy chase in them, sloan videos!, 80's hair metal videos, strokes videos, specials on the music of sesame street, etc... i also get some cool movie channels like ifc and sundance and a bunch of showtimes where i can watch ifc shorts and cool indie films. some drawbacks to all of this? they never stop playing that awful no doubt video, they overplay the hives, the white stripes, that "ooh ooh!" video too, but besides music, i think the biggest drawback is all the damn sports channels my brother ordered. i hardly get to watch the television since my brother is always watching some type of sport going on somewhere in the world. no matter what, even if there is absolutely no american sports game in the world, my brother can somehow find a badminton match in cameroon to waste away our time. despite all this. all the pros and cons i've listed so far, i think my favorite things to watch (and this is weird...) are childrens educational programming. i think my favorite channel, is number 298, noggin. noggin rules! i swear i love it. when i'm lucky enough, i can catch old episodes of ghost writer, and the adventures of pete and pete. but lately, i've been watching radical old shows like 3-2-1 contact! (which has the coolest theme song in the world) and the electric company, and old 70's education program. noggin also features things like bill nye the science guy, and old sesame streets. the other day i happened to catch world famous droids R2-D2 and C-3PO talking to big bird on sesame street. it was a very old episode. they were discussing if droids had feelings like humans. R2-D2 showed big bird that they do. And just the other night on the electric company, they had this live action spiderman thing where they told the story of spiderman going to a mets game and having to face evil villian extraordinaire, the wall. his origin? "a normal high school boy until a terrible blunder during a high school science esperiment turned him into a wall." the way the announcer said it was classic. then it showed what happens, and they had this guy dress up in a spider man suit that looked nothing like him, and he was wearing a NY mets hat, and the whole thing was wonderfully cheesy. spidey finally throws a cheesy net over the wall, then the referee throws them out of the stadium for interfering with the game. they made the whole story up... the 70's were great. i wish you coulda seen it. oh yes, the electric company has an all star cast including bill cosby and morgan freeman. i'm not sure why i'm drawn to this channel as much as i am. but thank God for Noggin. I honestly do think that educational programming helps a lot of kids. i remember watching sesame street and mr. rogers, and 3-2-1 contact! while growing up. i hope one day (when i'm rich and powerful) i can give out huge grants to shows like these.
