Ritual Structure: 1. Purification (you must purify yourself and your surroundings to make them pleasing to the Deities. If you were invited into someone's home you would feel more welcomed if it was a pleasant space. 2. Cast the Circle 3. Invoke the Directions/Elements aka Call the Quarters 4. Drawing down the Moon (full moon) This is not always necessary but if you are casting for something very powerful the more power you raise the more power you have - the more likely you are to succeed with your final desired result. Only required for rituals/rites and not simple casts. 5. Charge of the Goddess (Sabbats and full moons) As with the above not always necessary but in my opinion the more structured your ritual, the more you put into in - the more you will get out of it. Also only required for rituals/rites and not simple casts. 6. Invocation/Purpose of the Ritual Think of this as I have as an "I have gathered you all here for this purpose" type of thing. 7. Meditation It is always necessary to meditate on what you are casting for or doing a ritual for. If you have a clear picture in your mind of your purpose it is helpful in transforming the energy needed to achieve that which you desire. 8. Body of the Ritual You wrote it now do it. 9. Self - Blessing 10. Raising the Cone of Power Used to transform the energy. Can be as simple as a chant. 11. Grounding You always have to ground the excess energy raised during a rite/ritual/cast. I have seen people who do not become very uncomfortable. I usually send mine to the earth with the intention to heal. 12. Opening the Circle and Thanking the Elements. "Fair thee well and thank you for attending me this night......" 13. Endings Usually as an ending to my magick I will take a bit of the cakes and wine outdoors as an offering. While putting away my various tools I like to reflect back on the cast, usually by then I am able to get a sense if what I did will work or if there is something I need to change. |
