| The 2006 season of the CorpsVets took us on a whirlwind ride. Who knew that on a trip to Vegas, we'd end up marching in a hurricane. :-) And the whirlwind wasn't only on the field at prelims. It seems this year we had a whirlwind of people on the roster. But we made do, stuck together, and moved willing people around to accommodate our needs. I guess that's how I ended up back in the Bass Line for a second year. The corps needed someone to fill in the vacant spot before the first performance. I still don't know HOW I managed to survive the season. My body was happy in the pit. ha ha ha But I did finish the season. Glad I know I could do it if I had to...but don't think I want to do it again! :-) |
| One great thing about the CorpsVets is that we're not afraid to have fun together. Every year, each section "sponsors" a party. The horns usually tackle the Chili Cook-Off, the guard has connections to a huge house with a pool and other amenities that lend themselves to outdoor themes, and for the past few years the drumline has kind of "tagged along". Till 2005. We (the drumline) elected to host a "Pimps & Ho's" party. It was a smash hit!! So this year, we had to top it. Insert cheesy 80's music here, cuz we brought the 80's back to life. With the instructions of "come as your favorite 80's character...or just in the clothes you wore in the 80's" we got some TOTALLY AWESOME participation. |
