Nightsky

Nightsky does not appear threatening. Yet his movements are amazingly quick and fluid to a degree that no unmodified metahuman could match. He stands just under 5'5" and weighs approximately 118 lbs. Years of harsh living in some of the worst neighborhoods of Seattle has pushed his body into peak condition. His hair is brown and shaved close at ear level while the top remains long, allowing it to fall where it wants. The part is down the center. His eyes are also a dark brown. There is a tatoo around his left eye. It appears as a dark, curved triangle both above the eye and below it. Also, there are two much smaller triangles above the eyebrow of the right eye. Both of these marks can be partially hidden behind a pair of wraparound sunshades. There is a third tatoo in the shape of a small, black heart on the inside of his right palm.

Nightsky normally wears dark, baggy clothes that fit loosely on his frame. Though his may give him an unkept appearance at times, but it doesn't restrict his movement as much. Ideally he wears body armor underneath a camouflaged cloak when ever stealth is important. Nightsky has a necklace with the emblem of a yinyang with him almost all the time. He also as a small artifact that was given to him by Glowlady. He wears the small carving around his neck. It stands for a Elvish expression for a dragon. Nightsky also has a small pocket knife and a harmonica that was given to him by his father
Generally Nightsky prefers to avoid violence whenever possible, but when he is engaged in a fight it is to the finish. It is either all the way or nothing. Nightsky doesn't believe in toying around with an opponent. He is also a little hesitant on leaving the area of Seattle. It has been his home for so long that he doesn't feel as comfortable anywhere else. Nightsky is also picky at what type of Shadowruns he will accept. Normally he prefers some involvement with breaking and entry. Currently (2060) he feels that he is incapable of taking on some larger assignments.

He carries with him a contempt for all vampires and other creatures who prey on people like they do. This hatred also includes ghouls. To Nightsky these creatures are not a separate metahuman race, but beasts that deserve to be wiped out. This hatred and a need for retribution is a driving force in his life. In order to achieve this goal Nightsky knows that he will have to improve himself to where he can handle the challenges that lay ahead. Nightsky also has a lingering fear of snakes from his experiences in California.
There are a number of gangs around Seattle that Nightsky has run into with. Several that he would prefer to avoid. These include a splinter group of the Night Hunters as well as some uneasy dealings with the Spiders. His contact with the Spiders is an uneasy friendship through the Blackhearts gang that Nightsky maintains a membership with. Even though the Blackhearts and Spiders maintain an alliance, as of 2059 Nightsky hasn't never seen a Bug spirit in the Barrens.

Nightsky was born Michael Curo in the California Free State. The son of David and Loretta. They owned a small talismongering shop on the edge of the Sacramento sprawl. Though small, the shop made enough money to provide the family with what they needed to live off of. For the first few years of his life, Nightsky enjoyed a very normal existence. It was during this time that Nightsky met Glowlady (Imira Folkstaff), a tall elf with shining platinum hair from the Tir who came to work in the shop.

One night his family's shop was raided by a local gang whom had been hired by a coven of vampires. Nightsky, his parents, and Glowlady were all carried off to a mansion called Waltshere Manor outside the city and turned over to the leader of the vampires, a man named Darvish. Over the next few days a literal hell played itself out behind the walls of the manor. Horrendous scenes of torture were carried out on Nightsky's family as well as other unfortunate souls who had been taken. Nightsky's parents were killed by Darvish as a sacrifice for blood magic. The manor soon began to change, with scenes of the past and haunting creatures walking it's halls. Nightsky managed to escape from his cell, only to find himself running up a stairway that was covered in snakes. He dared not to stop running, for the vampires were close behind. In his race for freedom, Nightsky stumbled into a pit that was filled with all sorts of large, slithering snakes. Nightsky would have died there because he became paralyzed with fear. Fortunately, Glowlady found and pulled him out of the pit. Together they made their way out of the manor, but at a great loss. His parents are buried in a small graveyard outside of Sacramento. Once a year, on August 17, Nightsky comes back to revisit the tombs.

Nightsky's parents were gone. Later he found that the talismongering shop had been burnt to the ground. He carried with him a fear of snakes and a contempt for vampires that did this to him.

Nightsky and Glowlady decided to head North to avoid any more trouble. They made it as far as Redding. There remnants of the Vampires from Sacramento caught up with them. They were barely able to escape and crossed the Tir Tairgnire border in the early morning hours. The two of them were able to get halfway across the country until Tir authorities captured them. The pair were deported to the SS-Council. Shortly after breaking into the SS-Council lands the pair met the Vampires again. This time there was no clean escape. A fight ensued and Glowlady apparently died. Nightsky managed to escape, but only after losing his pursuers in the regenerated forests outside of Seattle.

By the time he made it into the sprawl he was cold, wet, and hungry. At the same time he did not have anywhere to go or anyone to turn to. He was on his own for the first time in his life. He wondered the streets of Seattle for days.

Nightsky eventually joined a gang in the Redmond called the Blackhearts. After the gangs leader, an ork named Jackal, pulled him out of a fight. The part of Redmond that the Blackhearts were in had always been under control of the Mafia and the Yakuza. Each owned a half of the area. Both of the syndicates ran most of the black market in the district. The Blackhearts were adjacent to the Mafia controlled portion. As a result they occasionally performed services to the Mafia family. This is how Nightsky met Trash. Trash is a small time fixer with connections to the Mafia. He runs most of Redmond and over sees many operations in the surrounding area. Nightsky still stays beside the Blackhearts, but he has been most interested in moving out on his own for sometime. The Mafia also does some recruiting from local gangs. Nightsky has managed to avoid any such recruitment.
The idea of freelance thievery and collecting some of the bounties that Lone Star offers appeals to him. Some parts of Seattle offer a semi-official bounty on Vampires and Ghouls. As such Nightsky has become highly adept at three major skills. He is quite capable of carrying out breaking and entry obstacles. At the same time he his skilled enough in weaponry and melee combat combined with an exceptional athletic ability allow him to take down opposition. Nightsky seeks to get enough money to afford more advanced equipment and move out of Redmond.
