Big Brawl In muh Street
Yep, I know it sounds awful and let me assure you it was, Un/fortunately I was at work when it all kicked off. It seems lyk it was a tiffle initiated by the BNP (British National Party) members..maybe? As i heard it a group of a dozen or so people decided to slash tires and basically vandalise the property in Edward Street, which happens to be an asian majority. This in turn caused some of the residents who witnessed this violation take place, they retaliated verbally, at this point things became heated and it hit boiling point.

This is when fists started flying and even bottles, the assailants had came prepared.. and started to wreak havoc on the people trying to stop this, there was alot of bloodshed involved it seems. Luckily the community is closely woven, and it took one phone call from a witness to bring down the whole street. The street was blocked off by the whole asian community, as cars sped in with more Edward street residents...the assaliants fled to the town and in pursuit where aboout 40 residents of the street, which quickly grew to 150 of them in a matter of minutes.

The chase was led to the construction site goign on near town the shopping mall/car park that is being constructed was, the fence was kciked down and the fight continued there. After a 20 minute "bust up" the police finally made there way down, but by that time the assailants had already fled to the park behind Kwik Save. Unfortunately for them, thats where more of Edward street resident "hang out" and they quickly bought them back into Edward Street. After another 20 minutes the police came down to sort out the situation, and after another hour or so the conflict was resolved, or at least hushed as the assailants were taken down to the station or hospital.

The outcome of this brawl happened to be a few wounded residents, the worst being a resident and a friend of mine who had the top of his eyebrow and head bottled, he was just left bleeding and was atteneded to quickly thankfully. The assaliants were the worst of the injured, as picking on a closely knit street of 150+ chasing you isn't the best idea. The Situation had been resolved by the time i had finished work... around 10:35pm, My brother was also involved and told me the story.

It hasn't been the first time something lyk this has happened in our street, but i think this time it wasn't their lucky day or time for that matter. Hope anyone else whoever makes a move lyk that learns from this... I personally can't wait to hear about it in the news. In a way its bad publicity... but i'm proud that my street/community is closely knit... we can rely on each other to be there! Go Back...
