Challenge #2 – cold
Untitled
“Eat your pizza, Bit, before it gets cold.”
His tone should wound, but it doesn’t, because she understands. This
isn’t the Spike she knew before it happened, that thing neither of them
dares to mention. Instead, he lives silently with thoughts of what might've
been if only he’d gotten there faster, and she lives silently with the
knowledge that saving her life cost so damn much.
He tries to be warm, to open up, but he can’t just yet. And she
understands, because he’s not the only one who feels the cold emptiness of
losing her. She feels it, too.
