Martinez had lead quite the rags to riches story.
Born and abandoned at a dumpster at birth, fate would see that Martinez wouldn't become a statistic and lead him into the dangerous thieving world where he learned the tricks of the trade... and met a man he knew as Remy.
They had a very passionate relationship and Martinez admittedly fell in love quickly. The love was short-lived as Remy would soon leave Martinez as he was called to bind the rift between the thieves guild and the asassins guild. Broken-hearted, Martinez eventually left the guild when he received enough training.
Back on the streets, Martinez used his abilities to make a sort of living on the streets. After several years of that lifestyle, Martinez suddenly came across a large sum of money, rumored to have been acquired from a extremely lucky and successful thieving job. Wise in money matters, he invested his money and decided to make a new life for himself.. as a sort of "noble".
Martinez saw fit not to ignore his always eager to learn a new skill mindset and set forth in taking fencing lessons while a wealthy man. The casual interest grew into a passion and a mastery of the art. Easily bored, Martinez decided his life still had a void in it.. which he decided could only be filled if he taught something. Since he had such a deep mastery of fencing, he offered his instruction of fencing to Stephanie's side where he still instructs to this day.
His students and colleages all think highly of him, and for once in his life; Martinez actually finds solace in what he does now.
