Interesting Fact: Getting his tattoo was in fact done due to a dare, however he does not regret it and actually likes it a lot. Jesse also provides a lot of financial backing for the band, putting a lot of investment into everyone involved.
Jesiah Robert Ashford the fourth was born in the very well to do part of Endless, where a lot of well-off families live. He was the only son to his parents, whom made sure he was to follow in the family footsteps.
His mother was a Heart Surgeon and his father was a Brain Surgeon. Academics and school were the number one priority in their household. B's were not accepted, neither were A-'s. Jesse had to always have A's, and while they came easy to him.. he gave up a lot of his childhood trying to excel in his academics. As a result of this, Jesse grew to resent his parents and family a lot.
He never had a choice in what he was going to do, it was always drilled into his head that he was going to be a doctor like his parents. While he grew to enjoy the study of medicine, a part of him still feels regret in not being able to find his own niche in the world. He rebelled against his parents by becoming a doctor in the city of Endless and not in the area they worked, working with people of all types and of all incomes.
Jesse would become the drummer for Panico when he performed minor surgery on the broken finger of one of the band members, Tybalt. While filing out paperwork, Jesse was casually drumming his pens against the clipboard. At the time, Panico desperately needed a drummer but none were available or had the natural talent. Taking a leap of faith, Tybalt brought it up to Jesse whom also took a leap of faith in deciding to try it out. Needless to say, the band members and Jesse were shocked when he was able to not only able to drum well, but exceptionally.
Jesse was always good with his hands. This is shown in his work, especially when he performs surgeries; but it also showed in what became his interest and "second job" after that spur of the moment tryout, drumming. While he really doesn't understand it since he never really practiced or played with drums at all growing up, Jesse states that the act of drumming is pretty much like surgery, "requiring precision, timing and accuracy." He also stated, "It always helps to bang on something when you're stressed, and believe me I've got a lot of stress in my life."
Since joining the band, Jesse has caused the rift between him and his family to grow even further apart. However, he finds himself being the happiest he's been in his whole life.
