The Beginning

night*mare (noun)
[Middle English, from night [1] + mare [1]]
First appeared 14th Century

1 : an evil spirit formerly thought to oppress people during sleep
2 : a frightening dream that usu. awakens the sleeper
3 : something (as an experience, situation, or object) having the monstrous character of a nightmare or producing a feeling of anxiety or terror

Why the name?

That's kind of easy. I love dramatics. It suits my nature pretty well. I know this website isn't any kind of nightmare, per the definition above. Well, not a nightmare to you. There are other things in my head, in my imagination, that would look upon the information I'm going to put on this page as a sort of nightmare. If you could ask any of my characters what they feared most, more than likely they would state me, their creator. I control their lives and the lives of the people they love. On a whim, I can destroy what they have, or make it better. How would you feel knowing that one day, you could die simply as a plot device?

I'd say that'd be a nightmare.

So ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, audiences of the age of consent, I bring to you the next installment of Wolfie's Little Den - My Nightmare in Digital. Expect the same kind of Webmistress's Notice, Copyright bits, and all that.
