Name:  Jonathan Archer
Rank:  Captain
Assignment: Enterprise NX-01
Species: Human
Birth Place: San Fransisco, Earth

Captain Archer was not the first choice, nor the right, according to the
Vulcans, but Archer has made enterprise his own.  HIs father, Henry
Archer was one of the key designers to the warp five engine, and
encouraged his son to dream of  "stange new worlds...to go boldly,
where no man has gone before," so it is only fitting that Archer captian
the first human deep space warp mission.

Given his first astrology book at age eight (Fusion) which he signed "From the Library of Admiral Jonny Archer", marked the first step in his life long love affair with the stars.  As a boy, he constructed model ships with his father, where he learned his first lessons for command: Keep thins straight and steady...Finsh what you start...Don't be afraid of the wind. (Broken Bow)  It was these times that taught him duty, and hope for the future.

He later went on to be one of a few warp test pilots, where he later went on to be one of the first Humans to break the warp twp barrier (First Flight), when he and fellow pilot/rival, AG Robenson stole the second warp prototype vessels when the program was threatened to close.  This bold manuver moved humanity closer to its goal of the stars, and Archer closer to his goal of command.

Although he held a long lived resentment towards the Vulcans, who, in his view, kept Humanity from reaching space, he is slowly learning to move past his past prejudices and preconceptions.  At first resentful that the Vulcan High Command insisted a Vulcan officer be placed aboard Enterprise for the maiden voyage, Archer has come to show his true worth and look past the surface and see the value of an individual, even asking, and later fighting for his Sience Officer to stay aboard Enterprise.  Captain Archer is fast becoming the model for future captains to follow as Humanity continues to reach for the stars.
