o.k. here is an interesting one. The first part of this song starts out with a poem wrote by an ex-girlfriend that I am still friends with. She drew a pic of a rose and skull and placed the peom next to it... wish I had a way of placing it on here because I am impressed with the artwork. This poem struck me hard at the time I wrote this song so I incorporated it. (with permission first.) Guess, its what she sees... *shrug* Anyhow, after reading the poem this song was inspired.

LONELINESS OF SURVIVORSHIP

There is no umbrella
to seperate you
from eternity

meanhile an army
marches behind
in the rain

your friends are
dead or dying

you are a survivor
with all the loneliness
of survivorship
                 ----T.L. Calico

When you look into the mirror can you see the down side
or is it just the tears blinding what your trying to hide
when you open your hand does it hold what it may seem
is it all just coincidence or can it just be a crazy dream
could it be the end of days or its it what you may know
and I cry out in the night why can't you just let me go

I can hear the battle cries off into the far off distance
yet it is just another barrier some kind of resistance
looking into the moon I cry to myself and hold my heart
only the questions keep you from tearing yourself apart
the fight continues and the rage becomes that of the sun
in the dense fog I can feel the things that want me to run

abandoned and renegade someone pull the trigger let me know
just which way did the truth go and why not now can I go
the chains slow but the dragging presses me forward in time
who is that calling my name after dark into a lifeless bind
come back to the age of days when it was just left to say
because beknown to me I will have to live for just another day

(cc1)
The loneliness of survivorship
The loneliness of survivorship
The loneliness of survivorship
The loneliness of survivorship
The loneliness of survivorship
