I had this classmate back in college that was pure challenge. She and I would go rounds and rounds and yet... Somehow we got along fine. If we wasn't bashing on eachother in some kind of competition we was joining forces to conquer greater feats. In alot of ways I miss having a competative companion as this one. She knew how to push my buttons just right to make me go the extra mile that even at times suprised myself. Even though I highly doubt I could hold anything other then a friendship with her... Sometimes I wish she was still around to help push me over the competive edge again... Anyhow the greatest saying I remember her saying to me is...

FOREVER

She walked the razors edge with no shoes on
I would strike my marks and then I would be gone
As the light grew everything would seem to get grim
It was hell to see what idle talk would get us in
We liked eachother but never would give a hint
The challenge of who was first where ever we went
I would meet her half way across on the dance floor
Everyone thought we had a thing but it was nothing more
It was just the need for a challenge by another's line
If it didn't work the first then we did one more time

(cc1)
I would ask are you sure, knowing
What the answer was,
 she said
"Well tell me do you want to live forever"
"Or do you just want them to rememer"
ya
"Well tell me do you want to live forever"
"Or do you just want them to remember"

Don't patonize me for I don't care what the odds may be
She said don't waste my time if your going to ride with me
Everywhere we went everyone knew we wouldn't stop
One fighting force that moved forward while we fought
Charitar matters when you walk and you lead the rest
but it always helps to walk arm and arm with the best
If there was nothing to do then it was just a test of patience
sometimes the idle times seem to be more then intense
Sometimes I wonder if she just wanted me to be impressed
other times I could swear she was looking to put me to rest

(Repeat CC1)

I travled on far and wide to make another story to tell
I will never forget the way she smiled and wished me well
It was real and it was fun but can't say that it was real fun
I smiled and said I will be back in time to finish whats undone
I miss her and I do often wonder where she might be today
It was the times like these that taught me how tough it is to play
