I remember this song very well... This song came to me when I was working on a very large building. This was the time I was having a tough time with life... mainly my marriage. This was probably one of the few times where I actually considered a suicide solution. There is but one problem with me killing myself. I have too much pride to go that way. So when I climbed up above on the 10th floor of a coal dryer plant at lunch time I actually stood and spread my arms out. I figured that if there was no way out of this screwy life then let the hand of fate pull me off. thus I would have most likely died (considering I untied myself.) and if I could stand but 5 min. without losing my balance then it ment I was going to be o.k... well considering I lived to write this song you can see I managed to hold my own up there. *lol* well after I did this I managed to sit down and tell myself that I ain't going out without a fight. I guess I just had to remind myself of where I came from.
I climb the latter to the sky above never stop sometimes I wonder can I be the things I am not look down at the people below and wonder why is the ground too safe to even give it a try and all the words that have an empty meaning is it only a game reserved for only the greedy (CC1) So I stepped out on the edge balance myself with the wind This could be the start and it can be the end The ground says I ain't that far from there The sky says nothing will stop you up here On The edge of the world Slowly I lift one foot and spread my arms out look to the sky and wonder what this is about I whisper either this world will do me in or it will never know where I first begin you let me live and I will hunt you down but if you take me I will return to the ground (repeat CC1) Gently swaying in the winds of time I refuse to be the one left behind Its funny how nobody will ever look up yet are willing to take the over flows of thier cup I smiled, closed my eyes and asked for help guess every so often I have to remind myself_______________________
