This song arrived from an interesting passing or meeting of chance out on one of my walks in Mystic Park. I was wondering through the trees when I met a young lady who seem to be drowning in her sorrows... Being the nice person I was I stopped off to ask what was wrong. She told me a long story about her husband who she just caught the night before with a family member. A second cousin of his... (among the Cheyenne this is rather a mortal sin that only pales in the light of adultry.) In her grief I sat down and talked with her most of the day and offered the comfort of my pipe. Before too long I had her laughing and smiling as she disappeared into the forest. Once again I sat down on my grounds and wrote this song to remember that day... for not only did I help her get a grip on herself I found strenth in good words and song that help me get a grip on myself as well...

BETRAYAL

(ANOTHER PASSING)

Do the winds of change ever change
No not for those who are doing great
And yea I can look deep in your eyes
It don't take much for me to realize
That you feel the pain I once had
But thats not the point why you stand before this man

(CC1)
Betrayal
Watch the children pray
Out in this lonely park
So much to live
So much to give
Its just another passing
Another passing

When you see tears falling from my face
Its not pain its I finally found rest in this place
Do you think he could be strong by your side
Or do you think it scares him your by mine
Im a warrior of purity and that of honor
I tell you this you don't have to cry any longer

(repeat cc1)

as I stand here with pipe held high
Ill pray for you that your tears run dry
yea its not fair to love one that is untrue
hold yourself blameless for it wasn't you
this is why you smile tonight as I sing
betrayal is yours to swallow another passing

(repeat cc1)
