Upclose & Personal : The Countess
Whoever said that all blondes are brainless bimbos obviously haven't met our countess May Hem. True, she does come with the looks: Beauty spot, bee stung lips et al , but May Hem also has the intelligence and slyness equal to that of Lupin's, and is possibly the only nemesis with the wits and skills to give our hero a real run for his money. May Hem is a skillful fighter and her most distinct weapon is a dart shooter, which she uses to render her victims unconscious before moving in on the kill. However, what makes her really deadly is her uncanny familiarity with our Casanova's strengths and weaknesses ( one can't help but wonder if she and Lupin ever had a history together..). This knowledge has given her an added edge that no other of his enemies have, and THAT makes our lady here, one dangerous female to handle. With such 'talents', it's hard to imagine why May Hem hasn't ditched Karst to make it out on her own instead. ( Surely love has nothing to do with it ?! ) Perhaps it was Karst who made her Countess, and thus has power to control her. Perhaps she was attracted to his wealth. Or perhaps even ... she was rejected by Lupin before and thus turned to aid Karst ~ his worst enemy? Anything is possible, but you can bet she's got a hidden agenda. And judging by the way she crawls around in that cat suit of hers, the countess is already a seasoned player in her field. May Hem knows exactly what she wants.. and she'll use any means necessary to get it.. and i do mean ANY. Nonetheless, Lupin is still the pro when it comes to outsmarting people, and to tame this shrew is a challenge he will probably relish with delight. |
