Our Inspector here really has his work cut out for him! Having dedicated his entire police career tracking down Arsne Lupin, he vows to one day capture Lupin and see him behind bars. Most of the time though, he finds himself being led around by Lupin instead. And in his quest to nab him, stumbles upon the bigger criminals 'caught in the act'. Of course in the end he still has real criminals to claim credit , but not being able arrest our elusive burglar still remains Ganimard's biggest agony. ( and realizing that it was Lupin who helped him with his cases isn't doing much for his self-esteem either! )

Yep. Ganimard can be really obstinate about his views on Lupin ( which makes you wonder what exactly Lupin did in the past to make the Inspector dead set on nailing him...looks like he must have made him look real bad... heh heh heh ) But who could really blame him? Now that age is really catching up on our Inspector, and having a partner half his age ( and twice his ego ) probably meant more baby sitting than sleuthing. No wonder the poor guy is frustrated.

However, Inspector Ganimard is not all that rigid and bitter. After all, he has managed to tolerate his partner's bumbling. ( who knows? Perhaps the Sargent reminded himself of him when he was younger? ) And there have been times where he almost had a good impression of Lupin... well at least for a little while *snigger ;*

Retirement around the corner? Not going to happen my friend, not while Lupin is still 'at large', and not if Ganimard has anything to say about it. If he's even planning to retire it'll only be when he captures Lupin, so you can rest assured that he's going to be around for a loooooooonnnnnnnggg time.
