Arsène Lupin is our suave, dashing crime fighting Casanova. Having traded in his past occupation as a jewel thief ( and might I add...Our elusive character certainly made quite a name for himself then ) for a more reputable lifestyle, Arsène now spends the better half of his time engaging in his new pastime ~ secretly aiding the French police nab the real big time criminals. Granted of course, Lupin hardly receives credit for the assitance he provides. After all, the Inspector and Sargent are more interested in capturing our elusive Lupin that the real criminals often escape their attention. And having made a mockery of the entire police system by giving them the slip time after time, the last thing you'll expect the police to do is admit that they were helped by the same 'criminal' who kept outsmarting them! Not that Arsène minds much ... he's probably having too much fun at their expense anyway! But like the saying goes, old habits die hard. He may have given up stealing jewels, but Lupin is still pretty much a gentleman thief at heart. If you caught him sneaking into enemy territores, leaping from roof-top to roof-top and doing his undercover sleuthing work, you'd swear that his lifestyle really hasn't changed much at all! In fact, it's may even be possible to say he has expanded his career to 'newer horizons' ~ cause from the look of things, our 'Don Juan' isn't just stealing jewels anymore... just look at the heart of a certain young female reporter... *wink* Despite his 'busy schedule' though, Lupin never fails to find time to slow down and smell the roses. (especially one particular one) Such is the lighthearted carefree attitude that Lupin takes on life. After all, if you only going to live once, live it well. And Arsène certainly has done just that! He could fight bad guys, thwart an illegal operation, escape from being caught by the police and save a damsel in distress all in one day without so much as breaking a sweat, and still find time for a glass of champagne and dinner with the people he loves! Arsène truly is a connoisseur of the finer things in life, and we're not just taking about the champagne! Here's a toast to Arsène Lupin, our gentleman thief extrodinaire! =)
