Remember Me: Chapter 3
Remember Me
Chapter 3

Yohji was half a sleep at noon when Omi burst into his room, waving a sheet of computer paper over his head and practically exploding. The teenager was nearly bouncing off the walls even if the dark circles under his eyes told of a sleep-less night.

“Go ‘way ‘Mi.” Yohji mumbled, rolling over. “Its Sunday. I’m sleepin’ in.”

“Yohji-kun I did it!” The small blonde bounced onto the bed. “I cracked the code!!!”

“What code?” The older assassin muttered, ready to rip Omi’s head off.

“The cereal code idiot.” Omi look displeased. “The one left in Ryotto’s computer system…” He trailed off, waiting for Yohji’s sluggish morning-mind to make the connection. When it did, it was like a bomb went off instead of a light bulb.

“YOU WHAT!?!” Yohji sat up so fast Omi was knocked off the bed, landing on the floor with a loud squawk. The dart-flinging teenager didn’t seem to mind, for he jumped up and pointed at the paper, which contained an address.

“See, there were cereal numbers missing from the coding. Like B-037 was the first one. If you find all the missing ones and then add up the numbers you get a number with four digits, like an address. Then, put the letters together and you get a street name!’ The teenager grinned and flashed the V-sign. “Neon God should be at 6781 Befot street, or at least another clue.”

“Quick question.”

“Eh?”

“How do we get a hold of Crawford?” Yohji raked a hand threw his mussed sandy hair.

“The phone book dummy.” Omi rolled his eyes at him. “How many Brad Crawfords can their be in Japan??”

****

Crawford picked up the phone the second it rang, expecting it of course. Having visions came in handy at times.

“What did you find?” He asked as he folded his newspaper. “For starters, the address of either the company or another clue. And it seems Omi had a tracking device on me and listened to our conversation, he’s in.” Yohji sounded really annoyed and there was a lot of noise in the background. “Hold on a sec.”

“All right.” Crawford frowned at the sounds of a hand being placed over the phone.

“Omi would you shut the fuck up!?!?” Yohji yelled. Crawford winced and pulled away from the receiver. Nagi raised a thin mahogany eyebrow at the action, an amused smile curling his lips a bit. “And stay out of the coffee! Drink caffeine free dammit.”

“Kudo?” Nagi asked. Brad nodded. “What’s he got?”

“It appears Bombay had a two-way radio of some sort on him when he was in the library. Bombay must have gotten the information, I can’t see Balinese doing it.” The American seemed faintly disgusted.

“Ask him how he got it.” Nagi’s interest was peaked. He had also been trying to crack the code for little more than a week and had gotten no where.

“How did you manage to find this out?” Brad asked when Yohji returned to the phone.

“Omi found some cereal numbers in what was left of Ryotto’s system. He added up the missing ones to come up with an address. Then he just used the letters to name the street.”

“We should meet to plan our attack.” Crawford stated casually, as if telling Yohji the time.

“Where?” Yohji asked, and from his voice, Crawford could tell he had put a cigarette into his mouth.

“Coffee shop.” Brad replied, reading off a notepad Nagi was scribbling on. “The one across the street from the library.”

“When?”

“Now. And tell Bombay to bring his laptop.”

“Fine. See ya.” Yohji hung up and Brad did as well.

****

The coffee shop was large, but rather empty due to the fact it was the middle of the day. The two owners were arguing under their breath at each other, one a young sporty looking woman, the other a slightly taller young man who appeared to be from another era.

“Don’t get the coffee.” Nagi muttered at Brad as they took their seats across from the two Weiss members. “Its nasty.”

“Whatever.” Yohji was sitting next to an open window, mindful to blow the smoke from his cigarette outside. “How are we going to do this?”

“First we need to figure out what type of building it is genius.” Omi began rapidly typing at his laptop, bringing up the blue prints for an enormous warehouse. “From the outside, it appears to be a normal warehouse. No rooms, just one large storage area. But the inside is built more like an office building. There’s also a basement and tunnels that connect to surrounding ware houses.”

“We could get in threw there or the roof.” Nagi muttered as he flipped threw a folder containing some of the printed blue prints.

“The roof is bound to have guards on it, probably not actual people but motion sensors, cameras mics. The whole shirade.”

“And the tunnels are probably active 24/7.” Nagi finished. Brad raised an elegant coal eyebrow. The two were playing off each other better than Nagi and himself, it was rather odd.

“We also have to know who were going after.” Omi mumbled. “There are four main directors, one for each company controlled by the larger company.” The slender blonde leveled them all with a hard stare. “Ryotto was just a shell, as is a company known round the world.” Bombay’s lips curled into a feral grin, almost as if his entire being was bubbling with mirth. “Microsoft.”
Brad choked on his coffee and Yohji started hacking. Nagi couldn’t help snickering. “Seriously??”

“Yep. That’s where they get all their funding. Microsoft also helps Ryotto by transporting their products.”

“I always knew Gates was a pervert.”

~end~ o_o; yes OOC and I know they don't have addresses like that in Japan, but oh well.
